Jazzy

Finally, the valley's biggest jazz event is back. Sunrise Jazz Festival is back to Mont Kiara again. This outdoor jazz festive is always so happening because it features the big names in local jazz scene, and the most important thing is, it's FREE. :D This is why it shouldn't be missed by all jazz lovers here. Hehe, and of course I attended the show last saturday.

Sunrise Jazz is quite important to me as it's the show that made me fell in love with jazz when I first went to watch the show last year. Anyway, this post is not about the show last year. Ha.

Me and my music lover buddy went there very early as we know the place will be very crowded if we go there on time. So we just sat at a table with good stage view and waited for the show to begin. While waiting, a member of MNS (Malaysia Nature Society) approached us to collect signatures to stop government from logging in Malaysia's oldest rainforest. Salute to all the nature defenders out there.

After long awaiting with nothing to do there, finally the show started with Sharizan Borhan & Swing Inc on stage. To keep it short, let's start with some photos.

Sharizan has smooth voice, and he manage to capture everybody's attention with his sense of humour. A successful entertainer indeed. Can you imagine how he 'inserted' Ham Chin Peng inside Spiderman's theme song?

Sharizan is backed up by 'Swing Inc', which consists of Julian the saxophonist, bassist 'Fly', Tok Khon the keyboardist, and John Thomas, the brilliant drummist. Didn't expect to see them so early, as I thought they will only come out at the last programme of the night. Btw, they played their role well as the back up band, as well as showing their extraordinary skill in a few solo parts.

The next performance features Shelley Leong & Jazz Odyssey.

Not much comment on this, personally feel that the best player during this session is Alda Tan, the bassist.
This is the first time I finally see a female drummer on stage. Shelley named her 'the grooviest chick in town' :D It's great to see girls playing drum on stage. Hmm, dreaming about some day I will have the ability to at least play in a band. :D Yo, you know who you are, faster get our dreams come true woh. :D

The others not shown in the photos are Tok Khon on keyboards, and Wan Zafuan on the guitar. (Paiseh, couldn't capture good pics of them from my view).

They challenged several difficult songs, but everyone of them did very well to make every audience there high spirited for the whole show. The groovy songs, and the dazzling solo was really fascinating that the audiences asked for encore after the last song, although it was already almost 1am midnight.

It has been a long time since I last saw John's performance. That's the time when I was impressed and suprised that drumming can be so fun by playing jazz music. I went to learn for a few lessons from him many months ago.. (Sorry for disappearing for classes suddenly, FYP left me no free time at all for drum practise session, and I know it'll be useless to go for lesson without practising the previous exercises he gave) Hopefully when I'm settle down after work, I'll have time to practise and enough money to pay for the lessons :D

I won't ask for more, I will be very very grateful if I have 10% of his skill. (Ha, I'm still very greedy eh)

Blue

It's just kinda lonely when suddenly you realize that everyone is moving ahead and you're still stepping on the origin, learning nothing and improving nothing.

I know it's worth it to wait for a company which is desired by many people, but I don't have much confident that I will be the lucky one to get the job, although I always reminded myself to be strong and show out my confident. I just collapse sometimes. Especially when the interview date is dragged for a few times. It's just tiring.

Yet, I can't give up easily like this. It's my dream job. I'll do my best to achieve my dream. I'll just wait. Ha.. Sometimes I just need to let it out like this. Haha. I will continue reminding myself that it's worth to do so. Furthermore, what I'm facing now are just voices of the emotional pieces in me. I can be very useless sometimes. Ha.

I'll get rid of it soon. :D

Update

I haven't started my working life yet, but I still feel that I'm busy. Finally I've figured out why. Because I'm busy finding jobs. Hahaha..

Job searching is not easy, especially for a person who is not clear of what kind of life does she wants. Luckily I have my mentors, my very dear buddy and my cute dad. I know I can't always rely on them to help me when I need to make decisions or face the problem on my own. Trust me. I'm learning. Thank you very very much, and I really learnt a lot from you.

There will be another challenge for me tomorrow, and I really hope I can manage to get through it, and live my dream. No matter what the outcome will be, at least I've tried it before. :D

Fatigue

I thought I should be enjoying my holiday now, but endless tasks still come to me, non-stop, drowning me without letting me to steal a space to breathe.

Hate it so much.

Hate it more when those people take it as "You should do it.", and sounded like they paid you for what you did. C'mon~ do I deserve all these things? Can't you guys say it nicely, or more polite? There is nobody who is born to take all these responsibilities, and if you still treat people like this, not many people will stay. I understand why my friends left finally. :) Thank you.

Lang Tengah Trip

Ha. I went to Lang Tengah after 1 day staying at home after my Taiwan trip. Got nagged by my family of course, but no choice, it's a trip booked last year when AirAsia was sending out free tickets. This time I am going with some of my Chinese Orchestra old friends, and my teacher cum mentor, Stephanie. It's considered as a reunion to me too as I didn't really have time to gather with them for almost a year.

I actually planned to blog for my Taiwan trip first, but I guess it will need much time to really arrange and post it all. In order not to 'disturb' much of its sequence, I will post Lang Tengah trip first.

Lang Tengah is a beautiful island which is not yet polluted, unlike the nearby Redang. Some tour guides there explained to us in such a way that, Lang Tengah has very clean water, where you can see clearly into the water, Perhentian has more fish species, while Redang is a place for people to get drunk.

The trip was nice, enjoying and relaxing, especially the 3rd day, when most of the people went back in the morning. I found that I love places with less people, that's why I still love my Perhentian trip before this slightly more than this one, as the diving center where I stayed in Perhentian is not that crowded, although it's not that big.

I enjoyed snorkelling the most for those few days, floating in the water, what you can hear is just the sound of breathing by your ownself, and sound of fishes knocking the corals under water. It's so great, so quiet. Too bad I don't have the chance to witness turtles by myself. Nevermind, leave it to my next trip there again. Haha.

Lang Tengah, here we come!!


It's a beautiful place to rest and wait for the boat to come, but when the boat came almost 1++ hour late, it's not that beautiful to us anymore.

Mahjong hour~ Yeah, there's a complete set of equipment for mahjong and pool.. Hmm, I think I miss Perhentian's simple resort without all these.

Oh ya, there is a karaoke room as well. There are plenty of aunties singing there, and they were shocked to hear us singing.. Haha.. you know how well my teacher can sing~ The first question they asked is "Are you are Malaysians?", and the second question is "Do you all work in pubs?"

Nasty

I wonder what did that Italian say or do to him that made him so angry and sacrifice his last game in such a way.

There are people guessing all around, and some people said it's because the Italian fondled his nipples. Oh my god!! If it's true, then the Italian players are really nasty. No wonder Zidane was so so so mad. Pity..

Anyway, the game has ended, and I guess Zidane knows the fact that no matter how he explains, it will be no use.
