"Erm. Sorry, can you guys shift to that corner today? We are having a private function today, and the boss requested you guys to play softer."
So we stopped our songs and shifted our b*tts to another corner.
"Erm. Sorry, can you guys keep the volume down? There's one Dato or Tan Sri inside the room (pointing at our back). Sorry arrr"
In the end we're just merely "touching" our instrument, playing with a volume that only we can hear what we're doing. Oh, and busy answering the customers' questions to us at the same time.
"What's the name of this instrument?"
"Oh.."
(5 secs later)
"How do you write ZhongRuan in chinese? Haha. I've never seen this instrument before."
They really thought we're trained to write and play instruments at the same time.
That was how my last day in Hilton went. Cute things happen all the time.
I thought we could sort of do a Grand Finale (not that great, just 'hoot' our best with songs we like) before I bid farewell to the place. Anyway, I still enjoyed our last performance there. syok-sendiri. Hope my partner enjoyed it too.
4.417 years of lessons and experiments. I learned a lot from my very experienced partners. That place has witnessed me growing from a baby with zero improvisation knowledge to one who now simply add in stuff without caring how it sounds.
This place is also the one who has seen different stages of me.
So many things have happened.
The faint images that seems so far away all look so clear to me now.
Stages.
We fall. We grow. We learn ourselves more.
We move one step upwards, see things at a different angle, from a position different from the previous one.
The staircase is built from experiences and mistakes we've done.
There is no way to fake this.
When we look back, we realize it's the old you who taught you to become who you are today.
My beliefs scattered when I realized the world isn't as simple as what I thought it should be.
There is no way one can be forced to think like others.
There is also no way for everyone to understand what you think.
We just need to understand ourselves, nobody else knows better what is best for you.
What you have learnt, which leads to what you believe is yours.
Life is made up of these moments of fall down, struggling to stand up, fall again and crawl up again.
Perhaps these are what make life so interesting.
This doesn't mean we're looking only at the current moment and doesn't care what will happen in the future.
During the process we get a clearer vision on what we want to achieve, where we want to go.
That's when we know what we want for now and what we need to do now, revise our action plans, and move forward again.
